About STEALTH TEESSIDE

Welcome to Stealth BJJ Teesside.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Jamie Taylor is the head instructor at Stealth BJJ Teesside. Our team focuses on BJJ classes for the complete beginner, as well as advanced students. We work this way as it means new starters are always joining and becoming valuable training partners in the future. This is why we have developed our BJJ beginners programme. This is a structured, progressive, and fun syllabus enabling students to train in a safe & friendly environment. This approach ensures everyone can excel regardless of height, weight, or athletic ability.

We welcome students of all levels at Stealth BJJ Teesside. Choose from either our beginner BJJ, BJJ sparring, BJJ Gi, BJJ no Gi, BJJ takedowns, or open mat class options. All classes run on a continuous basis, so students are welcome to join us at any time.

Our classes start off with a general 5-10 minute jiu-jitsu warm-up, incorporating movements and techniques you will perform throughout the class. We then split the main part of our session into drilling techniques, and finally, sparring.

Self-Defence

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in an effective form on self-defence made famous by the Gracie family in early UFC events. First and foremost, it is a submission grappling style based around correct technique and leverage. The fundamental principle is to enable a smaller person to overcome a larger, stronger opponent.

Fitness & Self Confidence

Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes based in Teesside are a great way to improve your fitness, lose weight and gain self-confidence. These Jiu Jitsu skills then enable students to defend themselves in case a life-threatening situation arises. No previous experience is required before starting BJJ as the system is adapted to the students personal capabilities.

What Our Client’s Say

I've been training BJJ at Stealth for just over 3 years and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Until that point, I'd spend most nights in the pub drinking at any chance I could get. Now there's nowhere I'd rather be than on the mats testing myself daily and striving to become a better version of myself.

The training has helped me so much both physically and mentally, my only regret is that I didn't start sooner!

I've been training BJJ for 2 years now and it is by far the best decision I've ever made. Jamie is a very knowledgable instructor who genuinely cares about your personal development.

I've suffered from anxiety over the years and it has helped me so much. Whether I'm drilling or rolling it always helps clear my mind, makes me feel relaxed and I leave the gym on a high every time. Jiu-Jitsu truly is for everyone. Whether you are wanting to get in shape, meet new people, learn how to protect yourself, or just have fun.

At Stealth, you are never short of a helping hand. Always a warm and welcoming atmosphere with teammates that feel like family, what's not to love?

Before I started BJJ at Stealth with Jamie I was overweight, miserable and didn't have much confidence. However, the first day I started training I could already feel my mood changing, and the more I turned up, the happier I felt.

Over time, as I got better, I could feel my confidence coming back and my weight dropping. After about 6 months of consistently showing up, I had lost around 4 stone and my confidence was through the roof.

The hardest part about BJJ is having the confidence to go to your first session, once you turn up you'll never look back.

Just over two years ago I started BJJ at stealth alongside my dad. When we first started we were very nervous but were made to feel welcome by everyone.

As a 13-year-old girl training at a gym with lots of older people and being one of the only girls it was quite daunting. However, I was accepted into the gym and have been motivated ever since! BJJ is a unique sport and has not only helped me physically but also mentally helping me with my confidence and concentration in school.

I have so far achieved a lot of goals and targets I set myself within the sport winning multiple medals in competitions. I'm really looking forward to the future, training and competing alongside my teammates at stealth Teesside.
