BJJ Coach
Biography:
Dan is a BJJ brown belt with extensive competition experience and has been training in BJJ since 2010.
Speaking of his BJJ coaching philosophy & advice to beginners, Dan said:
"I think, first of all, you need to gain a good solid understanding of the fundamentals and then you can explore and build your own game around what works for you. Have fun with it. In my classes, students can expect fast-paced drilling, breaking down a couple of techniques, and then lots of sparring. The part I enjoy most about coaching is seeing my training partners pulling off the techniques we've been working on during sparring. My advice to any beginner is always the same; keep at it, things will start to stick after 6 months or so. Try not to overwhelm yourself with the techniques you see on YouTube. You'll have fun, learn a martial art, and become part of an awesome community that extends worldwide. Oh, and trim your fingernails & toenails!"
Speaking of his proudest moments in BJJ, Dan said:
I've been lucky enough to travel all over the world through BJJ and I'm always humbled to hear how the films I've made along the way have had such a positive impact on people.
