Director, Head BJJ Coach & PT
Biography:
Jamie is a BJJ Black Belt with over 16 years of martial arts experience. He is a qualified sports therapist & personal trainer who's history includes BJJ, Muay-Thai, Submission Grappling & MMA.
Proud of his team at the gym, Jamie says:
"When attending one of the classes at Stealth BJJ Teesside, students can expect to learn one of the most effective martial arts on the planet in a safe and clean environment with highly qualified and experienced coaches. I love to see the progression of my students and to watch them grow as both people and as martial artists. I also love seeing how excited they get when they pull off that submission or escape they've been working on for the first time against a resisting opponent. With BJJ, not only will they be learning a skill for life, they will forge new friendships and become fitter, stronger, more confident versions of themselves.
My advice to a beginner? Just relax during sparring and try not think of it as winning or losing. It can often feel like a fight to the death and this means they often go 100% and completely burn out after only a few minutes of live sparring. Tap early and tap often. This will not only ensure a much safer training enviroment but also speed up their learning and make the training much more enjoyable.
My proudest moment in BJJ was receiving my black belt last year from my coach, Steve Campbell. On behalf of myself and the team, we look forward to meeting every single one of our new members and getting them started on their life-changing jiu-jitsu journey."
